Skirmishes

Many of you suspected that Emma had not completely caved in the bottle war and had some plotting left in her. You smart people would be correct.

On Saturday afternoon, after spending an hour and a half in her baby bed and NOT going to sleep, she got up and decided to entertain herself with a little water play.

At the kitchen sink. While sitting on the kitchen counter, 'cause we all know that she gets the best view of the television up there anyway. I think she was trying to be helpful and wash those dishes in the sink.

Yeah, right.

No nap on Sunday. And then today, I had my press conference (did I mention before that I had a press conference with Food Network??) so I put the babies to bed about 10 minutes before so they wouldn't be interrupting the conference call. I could hear them talking up there while I chatted it up with Keegan Gerhard (not really, I got to ask him 3 questions) and then there was silence.

I suddenly want to burst out into song: ...and echoed... in the sounds... of silence.

That should have been my first clue, well, actually the second. The first was the giggling that went on between Emma and Ryan before the sounds of silence. The second was the silence itself, but we all know what a cockeyed optimist I am. I could burst out into a South Pacific song now, but I'll refrain.

After about 45 minutes I heard Emma talking happy talk, so I went upstairs to get her although if she did sleep it was a really short nap.

{Yes, that's a fig leaf.}

Emma was completely naked. She went to bed wearing a shirt, pants, a diaper and socks. When I found her, she was a bare as the day she was born. New nap time entertainment. Yay. I had no idea she even knew how to get her clothes off.

This girl holds a grudge.

Ya gotta admit - you will NEVER be bored!!! Just be glad she didn't leave any surprises in the bed - or color with said surprises on the wall. THAT's not fun!!!!

I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!

And just think, when she is a teenager, you are going to be, well, uh...older.

How wierd is it that our girls are so similar...first the Chinese jumping beans and now this. You can start by putting a onsie on her backwards, once she figures out how to take that off from the shoulders I don't know what to tell you other than to pray, she doesn't have to go #2 while in the bed. You may want to start researching the tent crib now, I found my brand new at a second hand shop...it was 1/2 the price...I can feel it coming, she will be climbing out before you know it. Good luck.

Yep. I know we moms are supposed to stick together and all, but just let me have a moment to say my favorite 4 words. I.told.you.so.
You can tell that one has some fight in her. What's the score now?

I love that girl she's got the kind of spunk everyone needs!!! Sorry at least she didn't poop like our Baby B did the other day when she managed to escape the towel after bath. Who knew a constipated child could poop so fast when her diaper was off!

And I love the fig leaf!

Carey, that fig leaf is HAND DRAWN on Paint!!! One of a kind original. And I had just a wee bit too much fun drawing it. Why do I get such a thrill doing juvenile things???? Wait don't answer that....

Shari, I lost count on the score, let's just say she's whipping my butt.

LOL! Hey what do you expect her to do when she gets hot?! She didn't want to interrupt your call so she just took the matter into her own hands.

My son does that all of the time, he loves being naked. I busted him in the kitchen the other morning with his pj bottoms and diaper off trying to put on his sisters stretchy headband like at thong. Not that he has seen a thong.

That is pretty funny! So has she given up on naps too? I think Ava has started this too! Her naps have only been about 30 minutes and it is killing me. I so look forward to at least 2 hrs of peace a day and I am not ready to give that up yet!!

**Bursts into giggles**

Jillian spent more time naked in her first five years of life than she did with clothes on... and we somehow manage to send her to school daily with clothes on, so there IS hope.

She's got spunk... love that kid!

It's only 8:09 and I'm checking your blog to find out what happened last night! Have you caved yet or are you hanging in there. Being on your 6th kid, I'm thinking you must have some pretty good stuff in your arsenal. That teeny tiny one packs a good punch, doesn't she?

At least she didn't have a dirty diaper and smear poo all over the place.

*L* My son has stripped down several times. Unfortunately every time he's peed. *sigh* Kudos to you on the bottle battle. I've gone through 3 "baba babies" and have yet to wean the last one. Mine fortunately sleeps through the night most of the time but I am dreading the bottle weaning. I like me nice easy routines too much! So good for you! You're a strong woman!

Too funny! I wonder what she'll do next? As I child I hated taking naps so I know how she feels and now as an adult I love taking naps!
