Odds and Ends

You know how I cleaned out my entryway closet and put those mismatched baskets up on the shelf?

Yeah, those.

In the end, they bothered me too, so I went through the house trying to find 3 like baskets and came up with these. I felt the need to put your minds at ease. I know a few of you were close to anxiety attacks over it. And guess what? As I looked for baskets I found another one:

That I could use to put all my umbrellas in. Who knew we had all those umbrellas? Not me. I couldn't find them and kept buying more thinking that the kids had lost them when in reality they were hiding in the pile in the closet.

*******************************
Yesterday I went to put my contacts in and my right one tore. This wouldn't necessarily be a big deal but I only had one more pair for each eye, so I knew that I needed to make an appointment with an eye doctor. So I opened the new contact package and that one was torn. Which left me with no right contact. Which now was a big deal because I HATE my glasses.

Trace says that I look smart with my glasses. Does that mean I looked dumb before?

He wants me to walk around like this telling people that I'm a scientist working on the super collider. Think they'll believe me? I'm going to walk around with my finger on my cheek like I'm trying to decide what speed to set the collider at to smash those electrons. Or is it neutrons? I guess I better get my story straight before I start "talking shop." I think this makes me a physicist now and all because of my glasses.

****************************************

I've been "communicating" with several guys on eHarmony over the last couple of days. It's all very odd. They tell you that they want to communicate and send you five multiple choice questions. You answer and then send them five. Then they send you three questions that you have to answer with your own words, then you send three questions. Then they send you "open communication" which is like an email but at the eHarmony site.

I'm still not sold on this. It all seems very business like, very cut and dry. I just started open communication with two guys today and they both seem very eager to "get to know me" but I can't say the same. Maybe I'm not ready for this after all. Or maybe it's just not the right guy. I plan on doing a post about some of the men in a day or two.

Do you think they'll be intimidated that I'm a physicist?

eharmony, huh? I guess no different than meeting someone and doing a first date...

I love the umbrella basket. I need to find one because we have a zillion umbrellas and I can never find one!

I love the baskets in the coat closet! you have me inspired!

I'm not sure what makes me feel better the most... the fact that the baskets match, or the fact that I can relate to you wanting them to match and being excited about it. Either way, you are NOT alone -- isn't that disturbing? LOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!

You look beautiful, with or without glasses... and anyone who even knows what the heck a super collider and neutrons are is beyond my intelligence capacity... maybe I should get glasses, think that would help?

Whew! I feel so relieved with the matching baskets! Love the umbrella basket. We keep all ours in the vehicles or garage, as we Never use our front door, guests do, but we never go in and out that way...LOL.
Note to self, get eye appt, I only have 2 more pairs in stock. I like your glasses, but feel the same way about mine.
Give hte e-harmony thing a few days/weeks etc. No harm no foul and it's sort of non-commital, I like that.

OH my, I am so happy you fixed the baskets...I was losing sleep..lol.

I am exactly like you when I have no contacts, it is a very scary place to be, go out of the house w/ my glasses, are you kidding me??? Yeah, it makes the entire world different....

Good luck on eHarmony, hopefully it will work out for you...

I wasn't losing any sleep over the basket situation but if you feel better about it, then hurray! for matching baskets.

I love the glasses. They are very complimentary to your face. (And no, I'm not saying that your face without glasses is uncomplimentary!)

Good luck with the online guys...it sounds like a lot of rigmarole just to have an "open" communication. But you never know...

Have a great day!

Could Julia look anymore like you with your glasses on????????? I think you look great in them. You are so like me , I would have searched far and wide for those baskets. The worse thing about my compulsive ways is that I gave them to my daughter and it bugs the heck out of me, but she is just like me!! uggggg

Denise just go with the "guy" thing ok, just give it a chance sister!!!

Love, Kristy

Forget being a scientist...I'm thinking more like a hot librarian. Girl, those glasses are cute!

Bless you for fixing the baskets. Now I will be able to sleep through the night.

Glasses are hot you know? And I am glad you resolved the basket issue because I was going to have to come over there and whip you with a strand of pearls until you made it right ;)

Mismatched baskets were making people crazy? Wow. I hope those people never look at ANYTHING I put together, haha!

I like the glasses!

I am with Kristy on the glasses thing. You and Julia look alike!! Katie has a pair very similar and LOVES them. Wears them to school when she's tired. Me? I can't do that. I will when it's early morning and I'm running to the store for milk--in my sweats. Lovely picture, I'm sure. I am on my last pair of contacts and am worried about something happening to them. What would I do then? Call in sick to work?

I am looking forward to your first man post. I'm sure it will be interesting. :-)

My OCD led me to follow you because it was stuck on 159 and I just HAD to make it 160. You are welcome.
