Multipurpose Monday

Brandy and I had so much fun with our last theme week we decided to try it again. Same themes, new topics. For those of you who might not have experienced our last theme week, let's just say that I can't seem to tackle the traditional themes. I tried a Not Me Monday and it was a general consensus that it wasn't my best, so it's non traditional themes for me. Besides, I don't like to be like everyone else. And don't worry Heather, even though I'm not doing Toilet Tuesday this time, I'll be sure to dust off the pearls!

Today's theme is a daunting task. It's pretty tough to top the multiple uses of chocolate pudding. I set the bar pretty high with that one. Unfortunately after a lot of brain racking, I'm not sure I did top it. But we'll go with it anyway.

Today's Multipurpose item is:

Babies

Yeah, babies are cute and cuddly and smell good after a bath (or so I've heard since I can't smell) but they actually have other good purposes and sporadic fits of usefulness.

Slave labor. Babies are too little to whine when asked to help with simple household chores. In fact, with proper training they will come running when the sound of the opening dishwasher door fills the air. What the babies do with the clean dishware is another matter.

Chore distractor. Who wants to wash dishes anyway? Not me! Babies are really good at clinging to your legs and whining until you pick them up and cuddle and play with them. {See the original purpose of babies}

Alzheimer Preventor: When you read the same book over and over again your brain synapses are laying ground work for memorization, preventing the onset of Alzheimer's. Exactly how many times can you read Goodnight Moon before you have it memorized? The world may never know. Emma starts to chew on the book about halfway through the story.

Purse and Wallet Cleaner Outer: That's my little angel riffling through my wallet. Has anybody seen my debit card??? And can I really live through getting a new debit card again??? No joke. Ross used it and put it on the kitchen counter and now it's gone. I wonder who could have taken it? We all know this particular baby can easily scale that kitchen counter.

Exercise Equipment: If I was a really smart woman, I would make an exercise video using babies in your workout routine. Heavens knows that if you try to workout while they are around, they are whining at your legs until you pick them up. Do you know how hard it is to do Kickboxing holding a baby? I know from personal experience just this week; its really hard to do an upper cut punch and a round house kick with a baby on your hip.

In this particular photo I'm demonstrating the use of a baby with biceps curls.

Not only are you exercising but your entertaining your little dumbbell too.

So there you have it, some of the multiple uses for babies. I probably could have thought of a lot more but my little ray of sunshine was creating a path of chaos and destruction tonight. Oh, and let's not forget losing Mommy's debit card. I better check my debit card purchases. What are the cool babies buying these day?

Be sure to check out I'm Not Your Average Soccer Mom to see what Brandy has come up with for Multipurpose Monday!

Very clever post... Unfortunately I'm too tired to leave a clever comment!

Stop by my blog when you've got a sec...I passed on the award you gave me (and I hate to say that you got it again (but with good reason)). Don't worry about passing it on though...keep this one on the mantel... ;)

Honestly what is it about babies and dishwashers???? Baby likes to climb in it! I prefer bench presses but I will have to try the curls!!!! Have a great fantastic week!!!!!!!!!

Ohhhh I miss having babies around the house! They are so useful to have around!! I was always tempted to dip their footed sleepers in soapy water, and have them clean the floors as they waddle around...

I love it! And the "little dumbbell" is pretty cute. I'm sure the 50 pound tub of chocolate pudding will come in handy. At least that's what I heard all the cool babies are using!

Happy Multipurpose Monday!

She is such a multi-purpose kid. But I'm betting her best "purpose" is kisses and cuddles.

Loved this, Denise!

Once again, such a funny post!! And any post with sweet little Emma always tends to be my favorite! Good luck finding your debit card!

Have you checked your computer drive for the missing debit card? I found mine there one time. I guess the tower looks sort of like an ATM.
