Tidy Tuesday

Yesterday I told you that I hated strict structure. But sometime the house keeping duties just seem to get away from me so I decided that it might not be such a bad idea to come up with a list of chores to do on certain days of the week. In my effort to keep my house not only less cluttered, but also much cleaner I'm trying to be like my idol: June Cleaver.

Oh, hi! You caught me on Mopping Monday.

Wiping Wednesday. I just love to dust! See how happy and smug I am!

Filling up on Vaccum Friday. Bye, bye carpet dander!

But I saved the best day for today, Tuesday.

Welcome to Toilet Tuesday.

Who isn't happy scrubbing the toilet when they're wearing their pearls? You noticed my outfit? What, this old thing?

Today we're going to clean the boys' toilet, something that probably hasn't been done in about a month. It can't be that bad, can it?

Oh, I guess it can.
Beaver and Wally would never have made this big of a mess!

The job might be heinous but at least I'm dressed for success.
If only I had a frilly apron...

Whew, saving the world one toilet at a time.

Nothing like the satisfaction of a job well done! I feel just like June Cleaver.

See, simply by dressing smartly you too can make the most dreary of household chores more fulfilling exciting. And be sure to keep your children entertained with an educational activity so while they're learning and expanding their brilliant young minds, you can be equally productive without interruption.

What? Not buying it?

Okay, the real Toilet Tuesday.

Cleaning toilets, one roll of paper towels at a time. Any "pearls" that I find are immediately flushed down the toilet! I think June had a secret maid.

Be sure to check out Brandy's blog I'm Not Your Average Soccer Mom for her version of Tidy Tuesday!

I love your face over the toilet...doesn't that just say it all. And now I know why you asked about the pearls. LOL!

I wouldn't wear pearls but I would wear a hazard suit if I had one.
Bathrooms are the worst - Yuck!

Momma, I really don't know. I THINK I get it clean then I turn around and one of my 4 potty trained lovlies christens it.

Here's a jewel: I cleaned the house the night before for my morning social worker home visit. Nancy (the SW) used the powder room before she left. I went in there later and one of the boys had had some intestinal issues in the morning in that toilet. Isn't that wonderful?

Hehehehe, what a fantastic post. I am sitting here dreading where to start. I have had a sick kiddo most of the week and she is doing the clinging for dear life protest to everything. Your real toilet tuesday looks very familiar to me. Love your blog!

This is fantastic! June really was all about the pearls, but you have her beat by scrubbing the toilet. We only saw hers get dirty in the garden.

LOVE IT! The only cleaning that's getting done around here lately is the cleaning out of fridge - into my stomach!!!

But maybe if I had pearls....

I can smell the roast cooking in your sparkling clean oven and I can see the beautiful 3 layer chocolate cake you made from scratch BEFORE the kids even got up that morning! And all that WITHOUT a frilly apron! You really are amazing!

So hilarious! I love "one roll of paper towels at a time." That's about right....

I was talking (okay, complaining) to my mom the other night about housework and she said, "You just need to train the kids to help. Your kids are old enough!" My little angel-monsters are 6 and 3 and are filthy little she-beasts. They are seriously the slobbiest. (My husband is pretty bad too....)

Too bad I like 'em so much or I'd be tempted to live all alone in a perfectly clean, sparking house;-)

Happy SITS Day. Love your blog. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

I used to have 3 men in my house. I'm down to one now....and that one is bad enough to clean up after! he he.

Great post!!!

That is funny...I really dislike doing the boys bathroom, but I tell ya..our bathroom is worse..because everyone uses it..
I really don't know why they (my teenagers) cannot shave in their own bathroom

Mammatalk said...

Seems like those boys could lend a hand. I believe in child labor, ya know...or is it teenage labor?

Mindy Goorchenko said...

Thank you. You have given me the kick in the pants I needed to get those potties done today. Although I get the kids doing their share throughout the week, I still think they're too little for potties. Hopefully that changes soon.
