Tis the Season

Tis the season for winter wonderlands.

And the season for school snow cancellations. My kids are out of school on Wednesday.

Tis the season for pretty Christmas trees.

And the season for babies to stretch on their tiptoes and get ornaments that Mommy was sure they couldn't reach.

Tis the the season for gift giving. "Here Mommy I was just getting it for you!"

And the season for gift hiding. Ross is trying to hide the prize for Day 6! Yes, it's SO good that my 3 oldest children are upset that I'm giving it away!

Put that back Ross!

Tis the season for children's excitement! Yes, I need to finish setting my village up!

And the season for nebulizer breathing treatments. Looks like I'll be getting a steady diet of Yo Gabba Gabba for a while.

OMGosh..Is the baby ok? I hope so. I had to laugh at your snow photo...we have had 12 inches and it is still falling...now snow day for us though! LOL!!! It snowed 27inches in one setting St Pattys day 2001 and that cancelled school for 2 days. That is the most I remember. BTW..the application to WACAP is going out tomorrow. EEEK!!!

Your tree is beautiful!! I love this time of the year. My kids would KILL for a snow day today, but no luck, just rain.

We've been fighting strep in our house, so I know how you feel. The land of the SICKIES:):)

Kathy, I wondered how they would react to snow here. In Tennessee it would have been cancel
led for sure! But I think they canceled because of the ICE below the snow. I rained and turned to snow. Unfortunately, Ross still HAS school so in a few minutes I have to take him-- Private school and he didn't like driving in the ice.

Emma started wheezing late yesterday afternoon. Not much, just a tiny bit but the doctor's have always said to start the treatments when she starts to hold off a bad attack. So far she's just on albuteral and not pulmacort so that's good! But I was surprised she hasn't had to do this sooner. She and Ryan have had a cold for over 2 weeks. I'm tired of wiping snotty noses!!!

Hey Denise right there w/ you on the snotty nose front and Kaylie often gets the nebulizer too. Love the Christmas tree, absolutely beautiful, at least your ornaments are returned to you, mine are on the floor if I'm lucky in one piece because the dog has an obsession w/ taking them off the tree......

Sandy Toes, I've devoted an entire post to my children's obsession with Yo Gabba Gabba and how I think it was developed. It's titled Baby Crack. http://www.theresalwaysroomforonemore.com/2008/10/baby-crack.html

However, its the one thing that will keep Emma still for her treatments. So.... Pray for me. I will lose my mind!

Crystal, Jill, and Lorie, if you were to see my tree without the lights it would look quite strange-- pretty ornaments on the top 2/3's and pretty much NOTHING on the bottom. I didn't think Emma could reach anything but I had some lose ornaments on a table. I thought she was getting them from there but she kept bringing them to me (or dropping and breaking them) so I watched her. AH HA! The video where she has the ornament in her hand? I took the one she had and she got another while we were looking at the village. This too shall pass. But NO presents under the tree!!!

Oh, I hope the baby is okay?! A couple of years ago, my little one had RSV, a little scary for a bit. Hopefully she will let you watch another kiddie show. In private I call that show "Yo Crappa Crappa".

Your tree is so pretty. We also only decorate the tree halfway. I am hoping next year, we can decorate the whole tree.:D

I was hoping for a snow day yesterday. The weather people were calling for storms, but nada, zippo, nothing.

Ha ha! Good post! Poor baby Emma on the nebulizer. Not fun, I'm sure.

Vickie, I have a real Love/Hate relationship with snow days. Part of me loves them! It get an extra hour of sleep-- always a much needed hour for more me! And I DO like having my kids home. But its also so much work!!!! Snow boots, gloves, water dripped everywhere. And of course, if I had something planned for the day I can forget it!

I'm hoping for a FUN day with the kids. Maybe we'll make Christmas cookies!

The snow is beautiful! But I'm glad to see it's in your back yard and not mine. [:

And Emma is adorable...poor thing - does she do well with her breathing treatments?

Denise Grover Swank said...

She does well if Yo Gabba Gabba is on. NO JOKE!!! When she was teeny tiny we found it was the one thing that would make her sit still. Now I have found when I add Steroids to the mix (Pulmicort) she FREAKS OUT. I did a post about that too titled Roid Rage http://www.theresalwaysroomforonemore.com/2008/05/roid-rage.html

She spent about a month on Pulmicort in May/June. Fun times.

I am not envious of the snow at all...now my hubby on the other hand has been attempting a snow dance for days. :)

My son has been managing to grab the ornaments that we thought were out of reach, too!

Oh the snow looked so pretty. I miss the snow living here in Florida, but then when I lived where it snowed I dreaded the feeling of being closed in when it snowed.
